Since
Who we are

Pump Repair Services is a family-run well and pump company serving Orlando and Central Florida since 1992, from Apopka and Ocoee to Windermere, Longwood, and Mount Dora. Owner Steven Perry has worked on Central Florida wells for over 40 years, and he built this company on one idea: a homeowner with no water deserves an immediate response and a guaranteed 2-hour emergency arrival.

Roughly 98% of the wells we service run on submersible pumps set 100 to 400 feet down in the Floridan Aquifer, so this is the work we do every day, not a sideline. When you call, we respond immediately, arrive within 2 hours with a fully stocked truck, and give you a firm all-in price after an on-site evaluation. There are no add-ons and no surprise charges. A quote is a quote.

Whether it is a dead pump on a workday morning or no water the night before a house full of guests, one call gets our expert team dispatched to arrive at your property in 2 hours, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Years
The owner

Steven's 40-plus years in the water-well trade, and still on the truck

Steven Perry grew up in the water-well business. He started working alongside his father at age 12 during the summers and has never done anything else. For years, he drilled and serviced wells across Central Florida as Orange County Well & Pump. When he stepped back from drilling, he narrowed his focus to what he does best: well pump service and repair, and the company became Pump Repair Services.

It is a family operation. Joanne Perry runs the office, and Steven still runs service calls himself. New technicians are not turned loose on your well after a weekend of training. Our people ride and learn for the first couple of months, then begin evaluating well systems under supervision until they can complete a long run of site visits with zero mistakes. Only after that standard is met does a technician earn a truck, and it takes about nine months from start to finish to become a serious, experienced well-system technician. That is the standard behind every visit.

The process

When you call Pump Repair Services, here is what actually happens

Call (407) 809-8805 | →
01

You get an immediate response

Call (407) 809-8805 and we respond right away, days, nights, weekends, and holidays. We are emergency-based, so we do not book time slots weeks out. We go when the call comes in, and we tell you honestly when we can be there.

02

We guarantee arrival within 2 hours

For a no-water emergency in our core service area, we guarantee a 2-hour arrival. When a job on the far edge of the area will take longer, we tell you that up front rather than leaving you waiting.

03

We diagnose with a meter, not guesswork

Our trucks are rolling supply stores carrying everything from a pressure switch to a complete pumping system. We test the system, find the real fault, and explain in plain language what is happening and why.

04

You get one all-in quote before we start

We tell you what the whole job will cost before any work begins. That number includes everything we would replace to protect the new pump, so there is no surprise at the end. If we hit a problem after quoting, that is our problem, not yours.

05

We finish the job in one trip

Because the truck carries the parts, most full replacements are done, and water is flowing again in about three hours, without a second visit or a wait for parts. We leave no mess.

Central Florida wells fail in ways a general plumber rarely sees

The water and the depth of a Central Florida well create failure patterns you learn only by working these wells for decades. Here is what actually goes wrong, in the order we see it.

The real top causes of well pump trouble here

The textbook lists the motor first as the culprit. In Central Florida, the culprit is often smaller and cheaper to fix. We regularly find ants in the pressure switch, a failing bladder tank that makes the pump rapid-cycle and slowly burns the windings, a drop pipe with a hole in it, or a fault in the electrical supply line. Finding the true cause with a meter, instead of assuming the worst, is what keeps you from buying a pump you did not need.

Lightning gets blamed for almost everything

Central Florida is the lightning capital of the country, so lightning takes the blame for dead pumps. In our experience, it is actually the cause maybe 1 in 20 times, almost always on an older 2-wire pump or in the control box. We check it, but we do not lead with it.

Iron, sulfur, and how long a pump really lasts

Central Florida well water often carries iron staining, sediment, and a sulfide, rotten-egg odor, which is why whole-house treatment is a common add-on job. Matched to that water, a good submersible can run 18 to 20 years. The wells that fail early are the ones running the wrong pump for the water, or a tank nobody ever serviced.

Common well problems we solve

Not sure what is wrong? These are the calls we hear all the time, and each links to a page that walks through it:

  • ✕No water at all
  • ✕Low or dropping water pressure
  • ✕Pump that runs constantly or clicks on and off (short cycling)
  • ✕Rotten-egg smell or rust-colored, staining water
  • ✕A waterlogged pressure tank

Why choose us

Seven reasons Central Florida keeps our number on the fridge

1

The same team on every job

The person who diagnoses your well is the person who fixes it. We do not subcontract, and we never hand your job to someone who has not seen it.

2

Honest recommendations, not fear sales

Our rule on repair versus replace is simple: does the pump still deliver the water and pressure your home needs? If you are happy with your volume and pressure, we will not sell you a pump you do not need, even when replacement is the bigger ticket.

3

One all-in quote, no add-ons

You hear the full cost before we start, and that number holds. There is never an add-on or an upcharge for any reason. If we hit a snag after quoting, we absorb it. A quote is a quote.

4

5.0 Stars from 172 Google Reviews

Customers say the same things across Google, Facebook, and Yelp: honest, on time, showed up fast, explained everything, and did not sell me what I did not need.

5

Real 24/7 emergency service

A dead well is not a next-week problem. We respond 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with a guaranteed 2-hour arrival and no premium for nights, weekends, or holidays.

6

Fully equipped trucks, one-trip repairs

Our trucks carry everything from a pressure switch to a complete pumping system, so a full replacement is done, water flowing again, in about three hours, without a second trip.

7

True submersible specialists

Most Central Florida wells are serviced by general plumbers who do not really know wells. We match the pump to your water and horsepower: Grundfos 2-wire up to 3 horsepower and Franklin above, so a submersible here can run 18 to 20 years.

What a customer said
“Steve does excellent work and is very reliable. We had a well problem (no water) on New Year's Eve, with 80 people coming to our house for a party. He had us back up and running in time to save our night.”

Buyer protection

What to ask any well pump company before you hire

Unlicensed well work is common in Central Florida, and a bad pump job can cost you twice. These questions protect you no matter who you call, and we are happy to answer all of them for our own company.

Galvanized pitless fitting pulled from the truck's parts drawer
We cover all six, every time
  • 01Are you a licensed Florida business, and how long have you worked specifically on wells and pumps (not general plumbing)?
  • 02Will the person who diagnoses my well be the person who repairs it, or does the work get handed to a subcontractor?
  • 03Do you give one firm quote before starting, and does it include the parts you would replace while you are down there, with no add-ons at the end?
  • 04If I decline the work after the evaluation, is there a charge?
  • 05Do you carry the common parts on the truck, or will I wait days for a second visit and parts?
  • 06Do you stand behind the workmanship, and for how long?
  • Ask us any of these at (407) 809-8805. We will give you straight answers before you commit to anything.

FAQ

Well pump repair in Orlando, your questions answered

Emergency call
(407) 809-8805
01 How much does well pump repair cost?

Every well is different, so we do not quote a flat price sight unseen. We evaluate your system with a meter, then give you one firm all-in price for the whole job before any work starts. That number holds, with no add-ons.

02 Do you really answer 24/7?

Yes. We respond 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and on a no-water emergency we guarantee a 2-hour arrival. There is no upcharge for nights, weekends, or holidays.

03 Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We are a licensed, insured Florida business, and every job is backed by our 100% workmanship warranty for five years.

04 Is it better to repair or replace my pump?

Our rule is simple: if your pump still delivers the water and pressure your home needs, a repair is the right call. We only recommend replacement when the system can no longer do its job. We will not sell you a pump you do not need.

05 My water suddenly stopped. What should I check first?

Start with power: a tripped breaker or a surge-damaged pressure switch is one of the first things to check. In Central Florida, we also see ants in the pressure switch, a waterlogged bladder tank, and a failed drop pipe. If you are out of water, call us and we will guarantee a 2-hour arrival.

06 My water smells like rotten eggs, or stains everything rust-colored. Can you fix that?

Yes. Iron staining and sulfide (rotten-egg) odor are common in Central Florida well water. We install whole-house treatment using natural aeration-based methods rather than chlorine, sized to your water. We also treat hardness and chlorine odor for city-water homes.

07 Do you work on commercial, apartment, or agricultural systems?

Yes. We service well systems for mobile-home and RV parks, churches, schools, nurseries, apartment-complex irrigation, and commercial water features, in addition to residential wells.

08 Do you offer free estimates?

We come to you, diagnose the system with a meter on site, and only then give you a firm, all-in quote. We do not quote blind over the phone. A real evaluation is what protects you from the wrong fix, so that is where our process starts.

09 How long will I be without water during a replacement?

Because the parts are on the truck, a full replacement is finished in about three hours, with water flowing again the same visit.
