Central Florida groundwater is hard, loaded with the calcium and magnesium that leaves scale in your pipes and water heater, spots on your glassware, and a filmy feel on your skin and hair. A whole-house water softener trades those minerals out before the water reaches your fixtures, so everything from your shower to your appliances runs cleaner and lasts longer. We install softeners built around Clack Gold WaterShield valves, which we consider the best in the industry.
We test your water on site, size the softener to your household, and quote the complete install after that diagnosis. When a softener is not actually what your water needs, we will tell you that too.
How to tell your water is hard
Three signs Central Florida hardness is costing you
Hard water rarely announces itself all at once. It shows up as small annoyances that add up to real wear on your home. These are the three signs we hear about most.
01
Scale and buildup
Crusty white scale on faucets and showerheads, and inside your water heater and appliances, is hardness settling out of the water. Left alone, it shortens the life of everything it coats, and a water heater full of scale works harder and fails sooner.
02
Spotty dishes and faded laundry
Glasses that come out of the dishwasher spotted, and laundry that feels stiff and looks dull, are classic hard-water signs. Softened water rinses cleaner, so dishes clear up and clothes stay brighter and softer.
03
Dry skin, dull hair, and filmy water
If your skin feels tight and your hair dull after a shower, hard water is often the reason. The minerals leave a film that soap cannot fully rinse away. Soft water feels noticeably different the first time you use it.
Signs it is time to look at a softener
Consider a softener when you notice:
White scale on fixtures, showerheads, or in the water heater
Spotting on glasses and dishes that will not wipe off
Soap and shampoo that never quite lather or rinse clean
Stiff, dull laundry despite plenty of detergent
Clack Gold valves
How a softener install goes
Sized right, installed complete
01
We check your water and household
Call (407) 809-8805 and we respond immediately. We look at how hard your water actually is and how much water your home uses, because a softener that is too small will not keep up and one that is too big just wastes salt.
02
Right-sized recommendation
We match the softener and its capacity to your water and your household, and pair it with the right pre-treatment if your water also carries iron or sulfur.
03
One all-in quote
You get the full price before we begin, with no add-ons, covering the softener and the complete install.
04
Complete installation
We install it start to finish: the plumbing tie-in, the drain line, the first load of salt, and the regeneration schedule set for your usage. Nothing is left for you to finish.
05
Verify the difference
We confirm the softened water is reaching the house and show you the simple upkeep, mainly keeping the salt topped up.

If your water also carries iron or sulfur, a softener alone will not fix the staining or the smell. We treat those with aeration first, so the softener is not asked to do a job it was never meant for.
How pricing works
Quoted for your water, complete install included
Our whole-house water softener system is $5,999, and that price includes the complete installation and a three-year warranty. For most Central Florida homes, that is the number, with no add-ons, and it holds. If your water also carries iron or sulfur, or your household is unusually large, we will size the right system and lay out the whole picture honestly rather than sell you a softener that cannot solve a staining or odor problem on its own. Financing is available, so ask when you call.

Scale on fixtures, spotty dishes, and filmy skin are the usual signs, along with soap and shampoo that never quite lather. We test your water so you know exactly how hard it is before spending anything, rather than guessing from the symptoms alone.
02What softener do you install?
Systems built around Clack Gold WaterShield valves, which in our experience are the most reliable in the industry. The valve is the part that does the work, so it is the part worth getting right.
03Will a softener fix my rusty or smelly water?
No. A softener handles hardness, not iron staining or the rotten-egg smell. Those need aeration-based treatment first, and we will tell you honestly if that is what your water actually needs.
04Salt-based or salt-free, which should I get?
For real hardness, a salt-based softener is what actually removes the minerals. Salt-free conditioners change how scale forms but do not remove hardness, so on genuinely hard Central Florida water, they disappoint more often than not. We will walk you through the trade-offs for your water rather than steer you toward marketing.
05How much salt will it use, and is that a lot of upkeep?
A right-sized softener set to your usage uses salt efficiently, and topping up the brine tank is nearly the whole job. Oversized units waste salt and water, which is one more reason we size the softener to your household instead of selling the biggest one.
06Will softened water feel slippery?
A little, at first. Soft water rinses soap away completely instead of leaving the mineral film hard water does, so your skin feels smoother. Most people prefer it within a few showers, once they get used to water that actually rinses clean.
07Is a little bit of hardness really a problem?
Over time, yes. A couple of grains of hardness working on your plumbing for years does the same kind of damage as a lot of grains does faster. It is steady wear either way.
08How much upkeep does a softener need?
Mostly keeping the brine tank topped up with salt. The system regenerates on the schedule we program, and there is little else for you to do.
09Do you service softeners you did not install?
Yes, in most cases. If yours has stopped softening or is using salt oddly, we can look at whether it is repairable or due for replacement.
10Will a softener help my appliances last longer?
Yes. Keeping scale out of your water heater, dishwasher, and plumbing is one of the main reasons a softener pays for itself over the years. A water heater running on soft water heats more efficiently and simply lasts longer than one slowly caking up with scale.
11Can you soften water for a home on city water?
Yes. City-water homes often want softening plus chlorine removal, which we handle. See our city-water treatment page.
12Why is there no set price?
Because the right softener depends on your hardness and household size. You get one all-in price after we test the water, with no add-ons.
13Where does the softener get installed?
On a well system, it goes near where your main line enters the house, close to the pressure tank, with a drain nearby for the regeneration cycle. We handle the placement, the plumbing tie-in, and the drain line as part of the complete install.
