Winter Springs grew out of the old Tuskawilla settlement into a leafy Seminole County suburb of lakes, trails, and mature tree cover. We will be straight with you about the water: most of the newer subdivisions here are on municipal supply. Wells are on older, more wooded lots in the Tuskawilla area, and on homes that keep a private well to irrigate larger, established lawns.
For those wells, the water comes up from the Floridan Aquifer, commonly 100 to 400 feet down, through Central Florida limestone that leaves hardness and mineral scale inside pumps, pressure tanks, and check valves over the years. On an irrigation system that runs long cycles through the dry season, that wear adds up faster than most homeowners expect.
