Horizon West is a newer, master-planned part of southwest Orange County, laid out in villages like Bridgewater, Lakeside Village, and Seidel Village and still growing fast. Most of those planned neighborhoods are on community water, so we will be straight with you: not every Horizon West address is on a well. Wells are on the older homesteads that predate the development, on the larger lots along the greenbelts, and on the many properties that keep a separate irrigation well to water big lawns.
For those wells, the water comes from the Floridan Aquifer, commonly 100 to 400 feet down, and it runs through Central Florida limestone, so hardness and mineral scale build up inside pumps, tanks, and check valves over time. On an irrigation system that runs long cycles through the dry season, that wear shows up faster than most homeowners expect.
