Where the water table sits deeper, around 60 to 80 feet on many Central Florida 2-inch wells, a deep-well jet uses an ejector down in the well and a two-line setup to pull water that far up. You can, but you are treating the symptom. If the pump keeps losing prime, something below it is leaking, and re-priming a leaking system every day wears out a new pump fast. Fix the foot valve and the prime holds.
Often you cannot. Nearly all Central Florida jet-pump wells are only 2 inches across, and there is no 2-inch submersible. On the occasional 3-inch well, we will convert a jet to a submersible, but we will tell you honestly when your well simply cannot take one.
With the right jet on a well that produces well, yes. A properly matched 1-horsepower jet pump can deliver the same water and pressure as a submersible. The wrong jet on a weak well is where people get disappointed.
